BASIC SITE FEATURES

Number of static pages

A static page is a simple page with only information in form of text and/or graphics. It has no interaction with any database or is not capable of performing and backend processes. It is meant only for display of information. Such a page DOES NOT carry any forms. For such a page look below.

Number of pages with forms for user-submission

A page with a form for user-submission is of the common "Contact Us" page kind. A customized form will be present in the page (which of course will match the looks of the afore-chosen pages) which when filled and submitted by the user would automatically be sent in a formatted fashion to a certain chosen email address through the server. Please notice that such a page will NOT be using the mail client (Outlook Express, etc.) on the user's computer to send the mail. A server side script would handle the sending of the mail.

ADVANCED SITE FEATURES
Site-Integrated Mailing List facility	A mailing list system is one where you would be able to build a dedicated customer/user email database and regularly send them site updates or other information to them through email. This way you would ensure continuous visibility of your site to these people. And since this is a site-managed mailing list, it would have OPT-IN features which would ensure that you are free from troubles of spam complaints. You could possibly offer the user some sops for joining your mailing list. The system would also have the facility for unsubscribing those people who want to.

These programs interact with the databases and display information on the browser as is required. A "Search" page is an example of one such page, where a programmed page interacts with the database to display information based on inputs from a user-form. It is not always necessary that a form-page is required as a front for such special pages. Pages meant for browsing of products (NOT SEARCHING) are also of these special kinds. Programming is carried out in any of the large number of possible languages, based on the site-host system. Some examples are ASP, PHP, Perl, Java, Cold Fusion, etc. Please note that the cost for such pages will depend on the complexity of interaction with a database, i.e. whether it simply displays information or does some backend processing before display of information, or if it uses user-input data to fill in a database.
